Time To Check Your Intuitive Warning Signs
Do you think you’re intuitive? No? I don’t mean the psychic medium type; just that inner knowing that could save you from making huge mistakes. Well, you might not think you’re intuitive, but let’s look at it in terms of your car.
Metaphorically, your intuition works like the warning lights, or indicators, on your car. When you first start your engine, there’s a lighted indicator that tells you your engine is cold. Not so important where I live in Florida, but definitely good to know in the Northeast in the middle of a cold snap. Why? Because your oil needs to warm up before it circulates through your engine. Your car will run better.
And…speaking of oil…
The oil indicator light tells you when your oil is low. Ignore that for too long and you can actually ruin your engine. Then, there’s the low-pressure tire indicator. It might not seem that important, but if your tires aren’t inflated equally, your car may veer to one side (not to mention the tires wear unevenly).
And did I ever mention the time my husband and I ran out of gas on a major highway? Yea. That happened. All because he saw the gas gauge on empty, but said, (like men often do), “Oh we’ve got another 10 miles or so when it looks like it’s on empty”. Not!
So…what’s all this have to do with whether or not you’re intuitive? Stay with me for a minute here…
Evveeeerrryyyyone is intuitive!
But, just like with your car, you tend to ignore the warning signs.
Until. It’s. Too. Late.
How Do I Recognize My Warning Signs?
Most of you will accept that your body gives you physical warnings all of the time. Like, your stomach growls to let you know you need to eat something. Thirst means you need to hydrate. When you can’t keep your eyes open, it probably means you need sleep. Recurrent pains could mean you need to get checked out by your doctor. Ignoring any of these warnings for too long could lead to serious trouble.
Intuition is merely a warning sign that you need to pay attention to something. It’s your own personal guidance system to let you know if you’re on the right track or not. And…it usually shows up as a feeling or emotion. What actually causes these feelings is the subject of another blog post. For now, just let go of where they come from and pay attention to what they’re trying to tell you.
Have you ever met someone and immediately disliked him or her, even though they haven’t ever done anything to you? We tend to say they are sending out negative vibes. Which they are…it’s an energy field thing…and possibly something to do with a past life or your spirit guides…but I digress…
Let’s not get into a big discussion about quantum physics, collective memory or Akashic Records right now.
Focus On Understanding and Enhancing Your Intuitive Powers.
Maybe, when you’re thinking about buying a new car you get an inexplicable feeling in the pit of your stomach. Understandable…given the price of new cars these days! But, if you pay attention, you can figure out if it’s excitement or if there’s reason you shouldn’t make the purchase right now. Like maybe, you’re not feeling comfortable with the deal that’s being offered. There might better deal coming your way. Or it turns out that three days later, you need the money for an unforeseen emergency. Your intuition, in conjunction with the Universe, is asking you to pay attention!
Let’s say you’re an entrepreneur with a small holistic business. And you keep seeing ads from people trying to tell you that you need to spend money (as in, buy their product or course) in order to make money. In some cases, that could be true. But, if you get that inexplicable inner feeling that worries you, pay attention. Maybe your intuition is telling you that you need to learn that particular skill yourself, so that you’ll be able to manage your business better later on. Or what they’re offering is not the exact kind of help you need right now. It could even be that the format they offer, like audios, won’t work as well for you if you’re a visual learner. You’re intuition warning signs are trying to let you know.
Always pay attention to your inner feelings. When something doesn’t feel right, it probably isn’t. And the more you pay attention to how you feel about decisions you are making, the more you hone your intuitive abilities. Accept that you have the ability and practice, practice, practice. You have more skills hidden in your subconscious than you realize. It’s time to trust yourself and start using developing your intuitive ability.
