Is Your Inner Compass Taking You Off Course? How Do You Know What’s Really True?
I was reading a blog from Louise Hay this morning about how we define “truth” and it really got me thinking. I mean, how do you know, for sure, that what you believe is really the truth?
Since I’m all about Past Life Regression, I believe we’ve actually been creating those truths for millennia…
But, for now, let’s make it simple and start with what you’ve learned in THIS life.
Since the day you were born, you’ve interacted with your parents, other humans, animals and the environment.
You gathered information that told you…
“If I do this, then that happens”, so you begin to understand that each action you take evokes a response…good or bad.
When those interactions evoke the same or similar responses over time, you form beliefs.
And once beliefs are formed, they become your “truths”, whether or not they are true for the rest of the world.
So…here’s where your inner compass may have led you off course…
Some of your beliefs may be working against what you really want to have happen, so there’s no benefit.
Unfortunately, those underlying beliefs work on autopilot in that what you believe deep down produce feelings and those feelings result in behaviors.
What you believe results in how you act.
So, how do you get your inner compass to start working for you instead of against you?
How do you find the hidden underlying beliefs that you don’t know even exist?
Step #1 is to start listening to the things you say to yourself, like “Money burns a hole in my pocket” or “I always pick the wrong guy”.
Every time you say those things, you reinforce the underlying belief. And what you believe is what will happen because you’ll keep responding in the same manner you always have!
Cuz…your beliefs work on autopilot.
Instead of accepting your “fate”, which is a form of blaming outside forces for your problems (a topic for another post), start uncovering where these beliefs actually came from.
If you dig down, you can discover how these beliefs were actually formed and then challenge whether or not they’re really true.
You need to start with your Mindset!
